Client Centered Consulting

• Institutional Investment Consulting and Non-discretionary Financial Management

JCS serves as an investment consultant to defined benefit plans, defined contribution (401(k)) plans, and high net worth families. As an investment consultant we act as a fiduciary, although investment decisions are executed solely by the client. When JCS serves as a non-discretionary investment manager, our services replicate those provided to institutional investors, however, JCS is given the authority to execute investment decisions, after discussion and approval from the client.

• Statement of Investment Policy and Objectives

JCS views the evaluation of a client’s investment objectives as the first step to a successful long-term investment program. Establishing investment policies and objectives defines the investment time-frame and parameters for asset allocation and manager selections.

• Asset Allocation

Each Asset Allocation policy flows from the Investment Policy and Objectives and reflects the client’s investment goals. Asset allocation strategies are typically reviewed every three to five years or as market conditions dictate.

• Manager Research, Evaluation and Recommendations

JCS provides highly individualized investment manager recommendations based on the proven selection criteria that individuals, not institutions, make successful investment decisions. JCS’s staff interviews key investment professionals at its office and at an investment firm’s headquarters.

• Ongoing Monitoring of Asset Allocation and Investment Managers

JCS continuously monitors each client’s asset allocation and the performance of investment managers. Asset allocation is evaluated relative to policy allocations, and performance is evaluated relative to benchmarks established for each investment manager and for the portfolio as a whole.

• Performance Measurement and Quarterly Reporting

Every month JCS calculates or reviews the asset allocation and performance of client portfolios, individual investments and asset class returns to assure that asset allocation percentages are within predetermined ranges and that investments are performing as anticipated, in absolute terms and relative to market benchmarks. These measurements are reported quarterly.
